Countdown to Hunger Action Month!

September is the month when communities across America unite to make hunger a thing of the past.

You are invited to join the Greater Chicago Food Depository as we raise awareness and critical funds to end hunger in Chicago and across Cook County.

Here’s how you can help:

  1. Know the facts about hunger
Some people believe that hunger isn’t an issue in America, but every county in the United States struggles with food insecurity. Here in Chicago, one in every five households are currently experiencing food insecurity.
  1. “Go Orange,” post and share
Orange is the color of hunger relief! So wear orange, take a picture and share with the hashtag #HungerActionMonth to show your support in ending hunger.
  1. Volunteer at the Food Depository
Your gift of time ensures food is available to families and individuals who are facing hunger.
  1. Make a Gift
Your donation helps the Food Depository stock the shelves of more than 800 partner programs and sites throughout Chicago and Cook County. To learn more or to get involved today, visit chicagosfoodbank.org/hungeractionmonth
