Act for Our Neighbors this Hunger Action Month
Kathleen adopted her disabled grandson. Latasha got a degree, but can’t find a job. David retired to care for his wife Lisa, who is legally blind. Tammy lost her husband and had to start over. This Hunger Action Month, take a stand for them.
Kathleen, Latasha, David, Lisa and Tammy all visited pantries in the Greater Chicago Food Depository’s network in the past few months.
“Nobody sees that it’s not numbers and statistics, it’s people,” Kathleen said. “These are people lining up at food pantries and applying for money to put food on the table. These are real people.”
September is Hunger Action Month – a nationwide effort to raise awareness of hunger and encourage people to get involved. Do you want to help our neighbors like Kathleen, Latasha, David, Lisa and Tammy? Check out ways to get involved below.
