New Study Links Food Insecurity and Disability

In a new study, the Greater Chicago Food Depository's research demonstrates that low-income adults with disabilities have a significantly increased risk of hunger compared to individuals without disabilities. The report finds that 31% of all households with a working-age adult with a disability are food insecure, compared to eight percent of households with a working-age adult with no disabilities. Food Depository executive director and CEO Kate Maehr visited WBEZ's Morning Shift to discuss the research. The report was also featured in a segment on WBBM Newsradio.
