We believe food is a basic human right. We also believe in creating local economic opportunity to end hunger.
In recent months, the Food Depository partnered with 17 minority-owned restaurants and caterers to supply hundreds of thousands of meals at new arrival shelters. This opportunity, funded by the State of Illinois and private donors, allowed us to meet an urgent need for food by directing all funds to support and invest in small businesses that created more than 40 jobs and economic impact across Chicago neighborhoods.
