Chicago business community raises more than $50K in workplace fundraiser

Despite the unique challenges presented by the global pandemic, the Food Depository’s annual LunchTime to End Hunger® campaign raised more than $50,000 this year.

In May 2015, the Food Depository launched LunchTime to End Hunger®, a special workplace giving campaign. At the time, it was designed to address the needs of the 1 in 6 children in Cook County at risk of hunger each day, by raising critical support and awareness through a friendly fundraising competition among the business community in Chicago. Today, the need persists and continues to grow during the ongoing crisis. Our neighbors need our help more than ever before. Since March, the COVID-19 pandemic has prompted the closing of businesses and schools, surging unemployment rates and supply chain disruptions. More children and families across our community are experiencing food insecurity as a result. The Food Depository quickly adapted the LunchTime to End Hunger campaign® to support this evolving and urgent need. And despite the new challenges, we are so grateful for the $50,587 raised. For the 2020 campaign, we welcomed new teams, returning teams, and even a special family team that all helped spread the word about the Food Depository’s work throughout their networks. Many thanks to these great partners and friends of our mission:
  •  Arcadis
  •  Guggenheim Partners
  •  The J.P. Morgan Private Bank Chicago Team
  •  Premier Camera Systems
  •  Team Strata Decision Technology
  •  Team VanT
The Food Depository is proud of our supporters’ nimbleness, adaptability and dedication during these difficult times. We look forward to a continued effort in 2021.
