Hope for Heroes

The flags flew on November 11 in honor of Veterans Day.

But your support of the Greater Chicago Food Depository is sharing help and hope with our local heroes every day by providing nutritious food and connecting veterans to additional resources.

With more than 12,000 veterans in Cook County living below the poverty line, support from caring friends and donors ensures the Food Depository’s network of partners is there to help our heroes and their loved ones.

Veterans can access fresh produce, dairy, meat and nonperishable food items every month at our veteran food pantries housed in Illinois VA facilities, and they can also visit any food pantry throughout our network for assistance.

Tyler, a former Marine, is thankful for the healthy food your support helps make possible. He says, “I always find more resources here every year, and it just keeps me going.”

Thank you for standing with the Food Depository today to reach our veterans facing hunger with nutritious food and additional resources to improve their quality of life.
