Vice President of People & Culture
Joni Duncan joined the Greater Chicago Food Depository as vice president of people & culture in May 2021. In this role she is responsible for talent acquisition, talent management, employee relations, culture and engagement, and payroll. Prior to joining the Food Depository, Joni was the head of human resources at Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago. She brings more than 30 years of human resources leadership experience.
In addition, she is a 2014 Leadership Greater Chicago Fellow, a 2015 Chicago Defender Women of Distinction awardee and a former mentor in the Link Unlimited program.
Outside of work, Joni likes to read, garden and travel. Joni and her husband reside in the Beverly/Morgan Park neighborhood.
Education
Joni received her B.A. in psychology from the University of Illinois Urbana/Champaign and her M.S. in human resources and industrial relations from Loyola University of Chicago.
