Board Member
Jennifer Vachon retired in July after 29 years at the BlueCross BlueShield Association (BCBSA) where she most recently was Executive Vice President, Operations. Her broad accountabilities included policy, clinical affairs, commercial markets operations, enterprise data, and the Federal Employees Program. Among her professional and civic affiliations, Jennifer is the Vice Chair of the Chicago Children’s Museum Board of Directors and was a member of the Blue Health Intelligence board, vice chair of the BCBS Institute Board and vice president of the BCBS Foundation. Jennifer earned a bachelor’s degree in economics from Union College and a master’s degree in health policy from the University of Chicago. Jennifer is honored to be accepted into the September 2025 fellowship class of the University of Chicago’s Leadership & Society Initiative.

It is both humbling and a privilege to have the opportunity to combine my professional experiences in health care and my personal passion for tackling social and racial inequalities by helping to guide the Food Depository in its remarkable work to address food insecurity and its systemic root causes.
