Looking for Food Pantry Assistance?
Though some of our partners’ programs focus on serving older adults or children, the majority of our network of Cook County and Chicago food pantries are open to everyone. We are proud to welcome and offer food assistance to all regardless of race, religion, immigration status or any other factors.
When you visit, you’ll find a team of friendly, helpful neighbors at your local food pantry, ready to assist you with obtaining food or accessing other services they may offer. We ask that you bring a cart or bags along with you for transporting your groceries home.
You are not required to show an ID to receive food assistance, though some pantries may ask for ID to ensure you reside in their service area or have not exceeded the permitted number of monthly visits.
Some food pantries offer other services in addition to groceries. These could include job training, support for older adults, free diapers, and nutrition resources. You may be asked to show ID for some of these additional services the food pantry provides. The food pantry staff can tell you what other services they offer at the location you visit.
