Our Internship Opportunities
About Our Internship Program
The internship program at the Greater Chicago Food Depository serves several goals:
- To involve students in our mission
- To educate and provide students with hands-on, realistic experience in a leading nonprofit organization
- To cultivate an appreciation of the needs of the community we serve
- To develop students as informed advocates on the issue of food insecurity
Internships are open to undergraduate and graduate college students of all majors, as well as individuals seeking experience in a career relating to nonprofit or social work. Ideal candidates will be seeking degrees—or already hold degrees in—public policy, social services administration, public health, communications or a related field. Applicants to the program must meet all necessary requirements to be considered eligible.
Students who are eligible for academic credit and/or special funding programs through their college/university are encouraged to apply. Interns receive a written evaluation of their internship upon successful completion.
