Araceli, Archer Heights

Araceli knows how important fruit and vegetables are for her children. Her husband works full time but they struggle to afford nutritious food, especially fresh produce. Thankfully, her family receives fresh fruit and vegetables from one of our Healthy Kids Markets.

Hunger affects one in six children in our community – limiting their potential to grow up healthy, smart and strong. That’s why our children’s programs connect kids like Oscar with nutritious meals where they learn and play.

 

Your gift of $55 each month can provide meals at a children’s program for one week.

Michael, Humboldt Park

Michael is an Army veteran who served in Vietnam. Now he is unemployed and homeless. Michael turns to our veterans programs, including Stand Down events at Humboldt Park, to receive nutritious food and to get connected with other services.

 

Your gift of $100 each month can provide 1,620 pounds of food for a veterans’ program.
