Engage Your Employees in the Fight Against Hunger

We can’t end hunger without the support of many, including dedicated corporate groups taking action. The Food Depository offers a variety of opportunities for employee engagement. These activities can take place at our facility, in your office, or at community events.

  • Volunteer
Over 35,000 individuals volunteer annually to serve the 1 in 6 Cook County residents who utilize our services each year. We have opportunities to fit every schedule, including daytime, evening and weekend options, with repack sessions at our facility and support for distributions & special events in the community. Learn more and schedule your volunteer day.
  • Food Drives
Join the fight against hunger without leaving your desk by hosting a virtual food drive. Using our virtual food drive website, employees shop our online store, including fresh fruits, vegetables and protein. Virtual food drives are great for team building, friendly staff competition and building your brand on social media. For more information on food drives, call us at 773-843-7291 or visit our site.
  • “Lunch & Learn” Speaking Engagements & Webinars
Keep your staff up to date on the face of hunger in Cook County by setting up a webinar or inviting the Food Depository to your office for a special presentation during lunch or at a meeting. The topic can be tailored to your interests or programs and is a great way to introduce employees to the Food Depository, promote a food drive or event, and build office morale. Contact us for more information.
  • Payroll Donations
The Food Depository makes a daily impact on hunger in Cook County. Include the Food Depository as an option for payroll deductions and help ensure that nutritious food is always available to our neighbors in need.
  • Corporate Meetings
Host your next meeting at the Food Depository and learn more about hunger in Cook County by taking a tour of our facility, volunteering at a repack session or enjoying a meal catered by our foodservice job training program, Chicago’s Community Kitchens. Contact us to schedule your meeting or event.
  • Advocacy
We advocate for policies that protect individuals and families from hunger, at the federal, state and local level. Connect your government affairs team to the Food Depository’s advocacy and policy team to explore how they can work together on an anti-hunger advocacy agenda. Read more about our advocacy priorities and success stories.
  • In-Kind Donation of Services
Directly impact the men, women and children facing hunger in our community by donating your time and expertise to the Food Depository. Support from generous corporate partners helps the Food Depository address the root causes of hunger for people of all ages and backgrounds.
  • LunchTime to End Hunger®
In this annual workplace giving competition, individuals donate what they would normally spend on lunch for one week to the Food Depository’s summer meal Lunch Bus program. Companies across Chicagoland recruit their colleagues and compete to raise funds. Start your company’s team or find more information.
  • Hackathon to End Hunger
Technologists, engineers, data analysts and general problem solvers take part in our all-day Hackathon to End Hunger. At the Hackathon, teams compete to develop solutions to real world problems the Food Depository faces. Learn more about the hackathon.
  • Special Event Opportunities
Our annual special events raise awareness and funds to end hunger in a variety of creative ways. Corporate engagement opportunities range from organizing teams for the Hunger Walk to attending events to event sponsorships. Find out about our upcoming events.
