As the Wellness Coordinator for her church, Monica advocates for healthy food access for members of her congregation and the larger community.

Monica also serves on the Governing Boards of McCormick Seminary and Illinois Action for Children. She is happy to call Chicago home.

Why Monica serves on the Board

I serve because I know the comfort and benefit of having access to food – good, healthy, nutritious food that feeds the body and nurtures the soul and I have seen the power of food to both heal and transform individuals and communities. Access to wholesome food increases our health, creates healthier families and communities and allows us to thrive, not just survive.
