A Message from Barack Obama

Every week during the COVID-19 pandemic, the Greater Chicago Food Depository hosts a video call with our network of food pantries, soup kitchens and shelters. These calls are an opportunity to discuss challenges and opportunities while giving our front-line partners the latest information they need to serve the community. On April 30, a special guest joined the call: President Barack Obama.

Hope Requires Action

President Obama joined us by video to personally thank the partners, volunteers and staff working every day to ensure our neighbors have the food they need during this challenging time. Because of their actions, more of our neighbors have food and hope.

The need is great during the COVID-19 crisis, but together we are greater.
