Feeding Illinois: Feeding Illinois is a coalition of eight Feeding America food banks providing food to nearly 2,000 food pantries, soup kitchens and shelters in the state. The association is committed to educating people about the role of food banks in addressing hunger and raising awareness of the need to devote more resources and attention to hunger issues.
Feeding America (formerly America's Second Harvest): Feeding America is the nation's largest charitable hunger-relief organization with a network of more than 200 member food banks and food-rescue organizations. Illinois Department of Healthcare and Family Services: Formerly known as the Department of Public Aid, this state agency is dedicated to improving the lives of Illinois' families through healthcare coverage, child support enforcement and energy assistance.
Illinois Department of Human Services: DHS coordinates the provision of comprehensive health and human services such as Food Stamps, Cash Assistance and Medical Assistance.
Nutrition.Gov: A vast nutrition portal that leads to information on food assistance and safety, lifecycle issues, health management, and research.
USDA Food & Nutrition Service: Formerly known as the Food and Consumer Service, administers nutrition assistance programs for the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
Greater Chicago Food Depository: The Food Depository teams up with partners in the academic community and with other organizations to determine the extent of hunger in Cook County. These are the research materials we have generated from that collaboration.
Food Research and Action Center: FRAC is the leading national nonprofit organization working to improve public policies and public-private partnerships to end hunger and malnutrition in the United States.
Social IMPACT Research Center: The Social IMPACT Research Center of Heartland Alliance is a full-service research and evaluation resource whose aim is to provide dynamic research and analysis on today's most pressing social issues and solutions to help equip those working toward a just global society.
USDA Economic Research Service (ERS): Produces research on nutrition assistance for the USDA.
