Peanut butter recall notice

Updated 11/05/2012 with additional recalled brands

The Greater Chicago Food Depository has been made aware of an expanded recall for peanut butter and almond butter products manufactured by Sunland, Inc. to include products manufactured as far back as 2010. Products that are affected are labeled under a variety of brands, so please reference this FDA page for a complete list of recalled products and code dates affected.

While the Food Depository has not purchased any products affected by this recall, we are encouraging member agencies to carefully examine their entire peanut butter and almond butter inventory – as some of the recalled brands could have been donated through food rescue and food drives. Agencies should discard any products listed on this FDA page.

As you know, the Greater Chicago Food Depository takes the quality of distributed food very seriously and we are applying necessary caution. We apologize for any inconvenience this might cause you. Thank you for your cooperation.
