CANSTRUCTION 2011

5th Annual Chicago Design/Build Competition

The 5th Annual CANstruction Chicago will conclude May 31, 2011. Take a look at the one-of-a-kind structures on display in the lobby of the Merchandise Mart.

Please bring your canned food donation to the Merchandise Mart, 1st floor lobby, and drop it in one of the Greater Chicago Food Depository Food Drive barrels.

More than 90,000 cans of food from the 18 colossal structures of the 5th annual CANstruction design/build competition will go to feed the hungry in Cook County. Chicago architects, engineers and construction companies are showing off their designs and engineering genius to aid in the cause to fight hunger. All cans used in the structures benefit the Food Depository.

Congratulations!

It starts with one can. To feed the hungry. To lift the spirit. To change the world. CANstruction, a charity committed to ending hunger, is using 'one can' as a catalyst for change. Each year, 678,000 people rely on the Food Depository. Chicago Canstruction's 5th annual design competition puts a visual spotlight on hunger while showcasing the Chicago design community.
